Show Notes

We are back with a new Who Are These Guys podcast episode! This week Tom Roepke and Scott Mullens both join me in talking about the struggle to keep balance in youth ministry, social networking and Macintosh computers. It’s a great show and we are excited for next week when we will be talking about what to do when dealing with competitive youth pastors and ministries in your area.

Be sure to check the blog for guest posts and practical tips in ministry!

I enjoyed the social networking comments. : ) I find myself using several different options because of what you guys were talking about - different audiences! I use MySpace for my youth group; it’s actually high school site now. In spite of the issues with Myspace, I actually find it the safest option at the moment. Anyone can see the blog, which has upcoming events, etc. But only kids in my community and parents can be friends, and only friends can see the photos - which alleviates a lot of concerns parents have about pictures of their kids being on the internet. On top of that, it’s so easy to upload a ton of photos and make an album out of one event.

I use facebook to stay in contact with my college kids; it’s what they’re using. I expect high schoolers to be getting into it soon. And my personal blog is for my friends and Biggest Loser/weight loss fans/contacts. I don’t think I could keep track of too many more sites, though!
